Recent concerts you've been to??

I just realized that I've been to two shows since the last one I posted about but got too excited about Bonnaroo to say anything about them.

Not much to say, though, really, I guess. I saw Baroness and Mastodon, which rocked my face off (though I was really sick and overly medicated at the time. Also pissed that Between The Buried and Me played in between - they were godawful, but fun to make fun of!).

aaand saw Sage Francis with th' boy not too long ago. I was STILL heavily medicated and had a hard time enjoying it. Ugh. Hahah.

i saw Metric, the Arkells and Alexisonfire back in april.
just sayin'.

LADY GAGA IS GOD. I'm sorry but she is the best performer of this time. It was even better than the one from back in late november (it was the first show of the monster ball tour, understandable!) AND SHE PLAYED HER NEW SONG YOU & I AND IT'S SO WONDERFUL
also, she deflowered her new north american leg of the tour pt. II with Montreal again!! CUZ WE ROCK LIKE THATTT

Man, I never posted about the 'roo!

Bonnaroo was rad, though I left a day early and missed out on WEEN (GOOD GOD I CRIED SO MUCH), Regina Spektor and the Devil Makes Three. Also some other stuff.

BUT I STILL SAW: Frank Turner (swooooonnnnn), The Gaslight Anthem, Tenacious D, Les Claypool, The Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Langhorne Slim, Norah Jones, Stevie Wonder and I caught a little bit of, like, Mumford and Sons, the Avett Brothers and some other crap. I don't know. It was a lot of fun, definitely a trip.

Favorite performances were (aside from the obvious Frank Turner and Langhorne Slim, both of which I've seen a billion times now) Tenacious D (Conan O'Brien introduced them, and it ended in Jack Black, K.G. and Conan in a silly sexual position - I am glad to be able to say I have seen that in my lifetime), The Flaming Lips (good god they put on a show) and Norah Jones. Well, and Stevie Wonder. Because, come on. It's Stevie Fucking Wonder.

Totally going to Lolla this yeeaaarrrrrr stoked.

Alsoooo... Maybe seeing Rufus Wainwright after Lollapalooza, hopefully seeing the Scarring Party a few days later AND DEFINITELY seeing Of Montreal in September ffuuuuccckkk!!

WOW that sounds amazing!!! a lot of those bands are playing at Osheaga too so I'm not totally missing out, thank goooood!!!

It was pretty good
But what made it worth the ticket price was Family Force 5
THEY WERE FUCKING AMAZING.

saw a bit of Pavement but we went to get food
saw a bit of The National, wish I could have stayed longer but I really wanted to see
Robyn!!! wow! that girl is just amazing
then Arcade Fire. insane.
we left at around 10:30, and made our way over to the Chromeo concert in the city, THAT WAS CRAZY!!! wow so much fun! we got home at arouuunndd.. 3:30?

LOLLA WAS SSSSOOOO GOOOODDNOMNOM

Managed to catch Devo (<3), Matt & Kim, Black Keys, Gogol Bordello, Deer Tick, Spoon, Phoenix, Frank Turner, Blitzen Trapper, Minus the Bear, Yeasayer, MGMT, The National and Arcade Fire.

I missed out on Stars, Dawes and Grizzly Bear, which upsets me greatly, but one of the dudes from Dawes played with Deer Tick and that was ssooo rad.

Devo was incredible, I've always wanted to see them.

Gogol Bordello were so good! I'd seen them before, but seeing them in a festival setting is insane and awesome. My boner for Eugene Hutz knows no end.

I was surprised by Phoenix's awesomness, as I was not very familiar, and they were a headliner at nighttime and it was GORGEOUS. Stuff like Spoon and MGMT were as good as to be expected, I'd never heard the National before and LOVED them, aaannnnd...

fuck. Arcade Fire. FUCK. So delicious. Ben and I were geeking out completely.

Also, I would like to point out that Lady Gaga was a headliner on Friday night and we left early. Because I hate her.

So. My apologies for having nothing to report on that... because I know a lot of you ladies like her. And I love you all anyway. <3 Hahahaha!!

Haha! Did you find someone to go with Ava? I didn't half used to bum blink when I was a teenager, I've still got a soft spot for them to be honest. Back in the day, me and my friend used to argue all the time over who was hotter, I would always go for Mark and she would always go for Tom. I have since seen the error of my ways and have declared them equally fit.

I did!! Which was super fun, i went into the most pits and almost died and that got crushed against the barrier... awesome! Finally have my hearing back too lol.

Ahhh i know what you mean, I'm not sure why but I never grew to love Mark... maybe I was just too in love with Tom to notice hehe. I have a picture from the gig as my background and my dad was like 'it's like you've reverted back to being a 14 year old with the whole tom delonge thing again' (bad when your parents knew you were obsessed).

but I went to Milwaukee and saw THE HAMBURGERRSSS

...okay, so they're just a band consisting of a bunch of friends of mine, but they broke up five years ago, long before I knew any of them, and I heard tell of the Hamburgers shows and junk so many times and I never thought I'd get the chance to see them! One of the members lives in Georgia now. He flew in just for the reunion show.

IT WAS GOOD.
Most fun I've had in ages. Hahahaa...
