Nin's Art Thread

Figured this might come in handy if I need you ladies' advice, like right now for example!! haha

I have this project, it's supposed to be a quilt sort of idea/motif. each patch is a different ink drawing (so this is on paper). can be originals or photocopies, and attached however we please (tape, sewn, etc)

I made a mock-up image, just want some feedback before I make the copies!



i think I'll make the center one round, and the edges of the ones around it.. to make it more interesting?

ooh! those are really fun! i love the colors and the movement that you've got going on there. and the arrangement you have works really well, too. it totally looks like one cohesive piece, and i think the finished product will be wonderful! i wonder what it'd look like with a thick, black boarder to make it pop? just an idea.

so all the pieces together make one composition? I think the symmetry works really well considering the pieces themselves are kinda crazy. I'd like to see it against a wall or something but I think it should be good!

Ooh I like that idea G-bell.. like black tape? or just around the border?

i feel like one thick black boarder would make it pop nicely. but i feel like you don't wanna break it up too much between each part - you wanna keep it looking like one cohesive piece. sorta like a quilt boarder...?

So I assmbled it and everything, I added the black border Gina and it looks sooo much better! I did black tape too though, I tried the clear one and it just looked better all separated.

I'll post a pic when I get it back from being graded!

If I ever need a paper quilt, I will call you.

I can't see option A (may just be my phone), but B looks cool. When I'm on the comp I'll get back to you on A

I definitely like the color and composition of B more.... though you should increase the size of cat face so he kinda overlaps the TV. What medium are you going to use?

Hm, I like A best. The green adds a neat little pop of colour.
