My prom is in 7 days!

And I have no shoes or accessories to go with my dress. People in school think of me as just a plain Jane so I want to look damn good to impress them, but I also don't want to look too formal and old.

The women in my family are not known for being stylish or fashionable (me included) so they've not been very helpful. I keep having to turn to my friends' moms for advice.

I have no idea what shoes to get. Please help!

I'm not pretending to be particularly fashionable myself, but I think if you can find an 'antique gold' shoe it would look really nice, and would tie the whole outfit together (with the jewellery).

I have a dress in a fabric just like that! Black shoes work nicely (plus they're the easiest to find) but I agree with Kendra- antique gold would be awesome.

your dress is looking more cool toned...how bout silver? maybe even black heels with a silver accent? your dress is way hot, though; you may want to keep your shoes simple so the focus is on the dress.

if the length of your dress truly bothers you, you can always have it tailored!

Well, I went shopping today and this is what I bought

Are the shoes okay? Cos I kinda regret buying them. They look too plain and don't really match the dress. Also they're 2 and a 1/2 freaking inches!! But I forgot to mention that the prom is going to be a masquerade-type thingy, so I got a mask (silver because antique gold didn't really match the dress well although it was so pretty I wanted to buy it just because.) that I've decorated with excessive sequins and stars and glitter and hopefully it'll make up for the fact that my shoes are dull.

Thanks! I've been practicing walking in them but I'll probably end up going barefoot halfway through the night Kendra, they're just black. My camera phone gives everything a greenish tinge. D: I really just bought them because of the pretty patterns on the heel. I tried to snap a picture of that but they didn't turn out nicely. Oh well!
