| Does anyone have any or know of any cute knitting patterns for stuff that isn't just gloves/scarf etc? I'm still learning so I hope I'm not being too ambitious by asking this! I like the stuff at kandy diamond i like this scarf actually. knitted cupcakes would be cute! cherries letters would be amazing! i don't wanna outright do those things but "interesting" stuff like that! | |

| Are the letters actual letters or are they just a knitted row or two that she then wired or somehow maneuvered to form the letters? The cupcake and paintbrush scarves look like it would be a relatively simple matter of adding/dropping stitches at certain points and changing colors. The cherries could be the same, just a matter of getting your stitch count right to make the shapes. | |

| The letters look like an i-cord. I find that I can manipulate the yarn into shapes better with crochet rather than knitting. Maybe I'm just behind the curve as far as knitting goes; I've been doing it since I was a freshman in high school and I can still only knit scarves and hats. How pathetic. |

| yeh the letters look like they are probably just shaped with wire. i know they don't look like anything too difficult but seeing as im still learning, im not very good at visualising or making my own patterns so i'd rather work from something written down. im just a bit bored of arm warmers and scarves but dont feel up to anything like a hat or something yet! ive been looking up different books i might look into. altho scarves similar to http://www.twinkiechan.com/gallery.php these ones would be good! | |

| Kiki, if you're going to buy books, you should totally check out the Stitch n' Bitch books. They have some seriously kick ass patterns and have everything from easy to intermediate. And they have knitting tips and instructions in the front! I would reccomend them to anyone, I don't even knit and I love flipping through them.
Theres also a crochet one called The happy hooker | |

| yeh i own stitch and bitch but as i said, i want something thats still easy but not just a straight up scarf or something. i have the stitch and bitch books but it's not really what i'm looking for in this sense. I know they have patterns in them but I am looking for something more alternative like the images that I posted.

| I had printed the pictures out and asked the knitting instructor at work for you.. Marlene agreed with what I had thought, that the paintbrush scarf is simply changing colors and adding/dropping stitches. The only difference she offered was that the letters may not be wired, but she would knit them and connect the points to form the letters with a stitch or two in the back. Sounds like you shouldn't have too much trouble when you decide to tackle this! | |
