MAC makeup

So for my birthday, my grammy is taking me to the MAC makeup counter for some makeup (duh).
I've never used mac before & I want a good foundation,eyeliner,foundation brush & maybe eyeshadow. Anyone have any recomendations, especially for the foundation? And do the counter people help you out & let you try stuff on?

for eyeliner their kohl pencils are my favorite...

foundation...some people absolutely love it
others hate it
and some love it then end up breaking out so they stop using it

if you've got good skin i'd say go ahead and try it and they'll match it for you

i've heard good things about the Studion Fix(i think that's what it's called) and their minerals

They're brushes are amazing!! And so is their powder foundation, I think thats the Studio fix 1, but I might be wrong. Ermm and tehn it really depends on your personal opinion on eyshadows and eyeliners due o colours, textures, forms, etc..

BRUSHES! They are MAC's must buy!

The fluidline eyeliner is awesome, and the liquidlast is realy good if you're gonna be really active that day. You know, swimming, sweating, stuff like that.

Beware: it WILL NOT come off easily! Use an oil based remover to take it off. Because all your scrubbing with soap and water will be in vain.

The foundation... *sigh* only use if you have really nice skin. Otherwise it will look cakey, fake, and it'll clog your pores big time! Sadly I have dry skin so I can't wear it.

If you do get the brushes don't let them talk you into the brush cleaner. It's really harsh, makes the brushes shed and lose their shape. Baby shampoo or hand soap is best for cleaning the brushes.

The people are really nice and if you mention that it's your birthday they'll be even nicer and match everything to your skin tone, preference, etc.

I LOVE the brushes!!! But get some baby shampoo to clean them with.

Careful with the foundation, like said above, lots of people break out from it.

They have tons of great eyeshadow, whatever colors you like, they probably have.

Not a fan of mac foundation. Are you looking to get pigments or shadows I can rec. a few if your looking for neutrals or colors let me know
