| Ok so I've been watching Disco's tutorials when theres nothing on tv and she's inspired me to dip my toe in the pond that is the makeup world outside eyeliner. *gasp* I know, seeing as I'm the first to admit that I am less than clueless when it comes to makeup. And even watching the tutorials I'm still like wah! But I guess we all gotta start somewhere and practice makes perfect. So seeing as I can't really afford mac (especially as I want that dress you all think is ridiculously expensive ) and it would be a waste if I didn't use it, I figured I might start with some Barry M? They have some kinda bright colours...(stop me if this is a bad idea...I have some Stargazer bright colours but idk...i cant really get them to work so good...maybe thats just me though!) Anyway...I need advice! Is there any colours I should avoid? Am I allowed to wear just one colour of eyeshadow?! I was gonna get one of these: Kohl Pencils but in what colour? and also maybe a Dazzle Dust again...in what colour? And how would I use said objects? oh and what kind of brush would I use? i guess id need to invest in summat to put it on with. arg and another thing...would Shocking or Vibrant Pink suit me? Like...look kinda cool? I've decided I dont suit red (found an old lip gloss) so...pink? so YES I AM A TOTAL NOOB! But as I said...everyone starts somewhere. so help me out?! treat me like an idiot. seriously. the very basics are needed here... if anyone knows any good sites or whatever...go go go! (i will ask really stupid questions...so be prepared ) | |

| Okay, well mostly I think it's worth experimenting with everything, maybe with cheap stuff at first if you're really unsure, and seeing what works for you and what youuuuu like. I think that the bright pink would look awesome on you for what it's worth. And of course you're ALLOWED to wear just one colour...just make it work. |

| Its all about trying out new things. But I will say this, brushes are EVERYTHING. No sponge tip applicators missy! |

| Actually I love spongey applicators for getting things reallly pigmenty on the eyelid and then working it out with a better brush, see, it's all preference. And also there are all sorts of stupid rules around makeup, like the "no blue eyeshadow" thing, which are just dumb so you shouldn't let those get to you. |

| Sponges use up I believe its 30% of your product or more. Yeahhh. Thats alot when you think about it. And are you talking about a powdery brush for eye or face makeup? |

| you MUST invest in a at least TWO fluffy brushes for powder and face. you have pink undertones, so it would look best on you. start of with neutral eyeshadows, and use bold colours once you master the neutrals. try blue, pink, green, and [Im sure you already have] black eyeliners. white if you wanna be funky! they make your eyes look bigger. using coloured eyeliner is a great way to use bold colours without going over the top. but if you're ready for bold eyeshadow, just use the colours I gave you for eyeliner - simple to start with! anything else? | |

| hmmm i dunno. im a bit confused ok so start with coloured eyeliner? i have a green liquid. but what am i meant to do with those?! just shove em on like i would normally? do i put em on top and bottom? do i just do the regular line or should i smug them a lil bit? and if i got say...a bright blue shadow...how would i go about using it? like would i just brush it on and then what? use blue eyeliner on top of that? or a lil bit of black? or what?! god its all so confusing...my mum isnt into the whole makeup thing and my big cousin (stand in for a sister at teaching me to put on mascara and shave my legs etc) moved away around the time of when i should have been starting to use makeup... oh and i havent even thought about the whole powder and foundation thing...i dont like wearing a load of crap on my face...i figured id start out with eyes because i actually wanna wear eyeshadows and stuff...and if i need face in the future ill deal with that then (dont kill me...) | |

| Some people line their entire eye, some people line just the top. Personally I just wear shadow then line the water line in black. Really you just gotta play around and find what works for you, because certain things look better or worse on different shaped eyes. | |

| if you aren't used to doing the whole eye-makeup thing, why dont you just switch your black eyeliner for something brighter like pink or yellow or blue? it's a simple change but it'll make you look totally different.
or if you wanna go for eyeshadow, you could start off by just smudging it under your lower lashes for a hint of colour? keepin it easy.
dont bother trying to learn whats 'right' with makeup (like "brown makes blue eyes pop!" kinda shit) because who's to say whats right? makeup is personal so just screw what everyone else says and pick the colours you want to wear! | |

| Use bright coloured mascara like pink, it looks really good and is the easiest thing in the world to do! I wouldnt really recomend Dazzle dusts to start with because they can be quite tricky to apply. i use them but ive been wearing full makeup for the past 5 years. |
