What's up with my skin?

I either used to have perfect skin, or I never used to look close enough in the mirror to see anything wrong with it. Either way, I want it to be nice again.

Grarl, I thought you'd be able to see it better than this. I guess 2 megapixels isn't as good as a mirror

See at the bottom there's little bumps? and redness on the top of my cheek.



I basically have redness and little bumps.. Waa. When I run my hand over my face I can feel them. Anyone know what I can do to make it better?

Oh and, I realise in these pics the bumps kind of look like spots that haven't quite surfaced, but it's not that.

Looks like it could be a bit of acne.

1) Keep your hands off your face!!!! The more you touch it, the more red and infected it will get.

2) Don't use anything on your face that would irritate it. While most people try to dry out acne, it can just cause it to get worse.

3) Take Vitamin E capsules. It will help with the redness.

4) If you want to use a toner, use rose water (you can buy it in most organic stores). This will calm the skin, and decrease redness, without drying it out.

5) If these things don't work, go to a skin specialist. Acne is an infection under the skin, that can ONLY be cured by antibiotics (acne IS NOT regular zits or pimples, and cannot be treated by topical remedies).

It is only on your cheek and does it look blotchy?

Mostly on my cheek, and usually it's slightly blotchy but if I irritate it (like while putting moisturiser on or washing my face) it goes very blotchy.

I have the same thing D: I haven't found anything that's helped it. If I do, though, I'll letcha know. haha.

Hmmm...come to think of it, could be a bit of rosacea. My dad has that. The doctor gave him some cream, and told him to take vitamin E capsules.

I have something that's quite similar, it probably is rosacea (mine is).

Shauna, has that worked for your Dad? Last time I went to the doctor (admittedly, it was a lot worse then) she said they couldn't do anything about it except for laser treatment. It wasn't that bad.

Be sure to moisturise really well in that area, the drier your skin gets the worse it'll look. You'll probably find you need to get stuff for sensitive skin, ANYTHING with even the tiniest bit of alcohol in it irritates the shit out of my face, and I don't even bother looking at skin products that aren't for sensitive skin any more...

With all that said, it could quite easily be acne too. If you have the fundage, see a dermo.

Make sure you eating well too Soraya (haha says me!), lots of fruit and veg n' stuff!

We are all sufferers of the same terrible icky skin thing.

try a different face wash. i find that sometimes if i switch it up whatever's there goes away . weird, right?

It does, actually. I was surprised. My father saw the leading Skin Specialist in North America, though. This round little Austrian man. My whole family has gone to him.

With blotchy...and if it doesn't go away, make sure you don't have like dermatitis or anything. Keep an eye on it, and it nothing changes or it gets worse...go to ze dermatologist.

Maybe it has something to do with the food you eat or the environment you're in. Just make sure you follow a good hygiene and you observe utmost cleanliness.

Food generally doesn't really have a proven negative effect, but certain foods have been proven to help. With the cleanliness though...bacteria can definitely cause skin issues. Thats what they think causes things like dermatitis.

FYI: Caffeine has been shown to help skin. I was reading an article the other day about how having a cup of coffee/tea a day and drinking lots of natural fruit juices can really give your skin a healthy glow.

I've been good with drinking lately, I've switched fizzy drinks to flavoured still water and cut down on my coffees but still drink one now and then.
But I have been eating *quite* a lot of junk so I think I'll try and cut down on that.

I've stopped using it. I'm scared anything will irritate my skin, and I'm not up for any more trial and error. My skin was fine without any products so I figure it'll be better off without any again.
I think C&C wasn't gentle enough for my skin. Like with the intense menthol tingling and stuff.
