| WELCOME TO THE CUPCAKE MAFIA FORUM! Welcome, new member, to the Cupcake Mafia forum! This is a quick "noobs guide" to the forum which should help you with settling in. Our HistoryThere is a short history to this forum. Basically most of the girls on here met on the Limecrime Forum before half of us got randomly banned by a crazy glitch and it turned into a spam-hole. As we couldn't regroup on there, a new forum was created; here! Now I know what you're thinking: "but this isn't called Limecrime!" Well it was, up until a few weeks ago as I post. The brand-new Limecrime was created and we all got back on it and became cosy again. During the summer, there was talk of how this forum was no longer connected to Xenia and how we should consider a name change. The name "Cupcake Mafia" came up and it stuck. What is this forum about? As above, this forum stemmed from the Limecrime forum, so the sections are pretty much the same. Basically, it's everything a girl could need! There's makeup & hair; fashion; relationship advice; secrets; sex; celebrities and movies; music; reading and a place to show off all of your photos! There's also a very cool community of girls (and surprisingly, a few guys, who do come in useful) who are willing to give you advice; whether it be on what colour of lipstick suits you or if you should dump him; and a friendly ear. This is a very close community which could be daunting for a newcomer, but we welcome new faces and it won't be long before you're welcomed into the group. Allow me to introduce..Myself :] Now, there's a reason I'm the one posting this post and that's because I'm the admin round here. I'm nothing to be scared of, honest! I created the new forum because I missed the girls and here we are. I post as a regular member and keep my admin account seperate. I am a regular member like anyone else, but I will occasionally post admin-y stuff on this account; so keep an eye out. Just so you don't think I'm some random being bossy! Also, you should familiarise yourself with the mods. Their names can be found underneath the topics on the main forum index, but there's also a post in the Administration section that lets you know who they are are a little bit more detail about the sections. You should familiarise youself with this to. - Quote :
- Next up, some basic rules and advice that you should take note of before you venture out
1. You should be respectful to everyone on the boards. Sure everyone has their off days, but there is no need to be bitchy or mean. It's just unneccessary. If you have a problem with another member then you can message me to discuss it or you can privately message the other member and discuss it between the both of you. No flaming or abuse or anything nasty like that.
2. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you should remember this. There should be no trying to force your views on people and no shooting people down because they express their views. You may not agree, and if you wish to express this, there is a way to say it that is respectful to their views, whilst still showing your own.
3. In topics where you may be asked for your critique or opinion on someones clothes/makeup/artwork, you should again do this respectfully. If you love it, then that's good; show it. However if you don't like it or wish to offer advice, please be careful about what you say. Bad example: "OMFG! LOL your eyeliner is a f**king mess! You did NOT go out like that?! Seriously...give up." This is a bad example as it does not help the fellow member and is rude. Good example: "Your eyeliner is a little iffy but it's a good effort. Maybe you should try..." [i]This is a better example. You express that you aren't keen on the makeup and offer advice on how the could improve.
4. Familiarise yourself with the sections. It's a hassle for mods to have to move topics to another section. The titles are pretty clear however there is the post in Admin which details them a little better if you're stuck. You should also familiarise yourself with the topics in the sections. If you're posting something that you think "that might be pretty common, it might have been posted on here before" for example, a post about mascara! then have a quick scan of the topics in the relevent section. The forum isn't massive so it won't take long to check. So be nice and save the Mods the trouble!
5. You should not change the size or colour of your font when you're posting. FULL STOP. We have a few people on the forum who have bad eyesight and have trouble readin the small sizes or colours; so please do not do it. If you wanna make your post stand out; sparkle us with your personality!
6. You should note that we have a policy whereby if you are inactive or do not post for one month, you account will be deleted. This is nothing against you. We hope that by deleteing your account, you'll be encouraged to re-register and get active, as you will recieved an email notifying you that it's happened. This does not mean you have been banned, so come back! If you are going to be offline or inactive then let us know! There's a post in the admin section where you can tell us and you won't be deleted.
7. Please make all photos reasonable sizes. There is a fixed maximum size on your avatar, but we can't do this with all posted images, so please be nice and do it yourself. Try to keep signature images on the smaller side. Photobucket has a "Website, Email" setting of 320x240 pixels. This is a good maximum size for your signature pictures. As for other images on the board, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THEM HUGE! As with a lot of websites, it can mess up the board. Look at the size other people use and try to copy this. If you're unsure of how to edit the size of a picture, perhaps try using a link to open the image elsewhere, rather than posting it on the board.
8. PLEASE DO NOT POST IN OLD POSTS. We know you want to get posting and active on the forum but please do not bring up old posts which have died. Most of the time, they've died for a reason; because the post has been resolved or just because it has naturally died out and has become obsolete. There are of course some topics which could be revived around the forum and you can probably work out which ones these are, however if noone has posted in it for a long time, it probably means we've lost interest. DO NOT post in a discussion topic which has died just to add your two cents. There's no need for this is the discussion has died. If you continue to keep posting in old topics, this is likely to annoy members. Post in topics which are active. So that's a quick intro to the forum! You can find more information in the Administration section of the site but if you have any other questions then feel free to ask! Now that you've read this, it'd be awesome if you start of your forum life by posting a short introduction in this section and let us know you're here and a bit about who you are and it's always nice to know how you found us! If you have any questions about the forum or any problems, please feel free to message me and I'll be happy to answer them. You can also contact the mod, if it is section specific. Welcome to the forum and ENJOY!

| REGARDING THE MISS GIRLY MEMBER ACCOUNT WE HAVE FOR ANONYMOUS POSTING.
As you may know, we have a specially created account on the forum which you may use in Members Only areas of the forum if you are shy or have something to say which you are embarassed about or feel you cannot say on your own account.
The members of this forum have no way of telling who is posting under the Miss Girly account. As an Admin, I can tell who is posting IF I click a specific button - it is not imediately obvious to me. I promise you that I will not check who is posting under Miss Girly unless it is required!. There are 2 main situations I can think of which will require me to check and it will be me and only me who reads and knows the name: 1. If we feel you are at risk to yourself or others in some way. 2. If there is bullying or people are upset in some way.
1. We have had slightly suicidal/depressed posts in the past under Miss Girly. If I have concerns about your health in a serious way, then after some discussion with the mods, I may decide to check who you are. Although there is not that much I can do, it seems harsh to sit back and do nothing.
2. While occasionally I understand you may need to vent frustration at the things, the forum included, Miss Girly is NOT to be used to make comments directed at other members of the forum. If you have a problem with another member of the forum, the you have two options. If you are feeling brave, you can send them a PM and have a private discussion with them without causing forum drama or if you aren't brave, you can keep quiet and put up with it. If a Miss Girly post is found which is abusive/bullying or offensive and is upsetting members of the forum, I will check who is posting and keep a note of it. If I feel I need to take it further then I will. THIS IS YOUR WARNING
