i have a bubble in the center tho..i hope it goes away. i got it done yesterday at around 1' oclock and its still a lil bit tender. ive been washing it and putting alcohol/sea salt/ junk on it. ive been moving the barbell up and down as well.

should it have that bubble? =[

don't put alcohol on it! it'll just dry it out and make it grumpy! just clean with salt water 2 or 3 times a day.

and don't keep moving the barbell up and down either. your grubby hands might infect it. plus if any gunk gets on it and you move it up and down, you might rip the healing tissue inside. just move it when your cleaning it and leave it alone the rest of the time.

yeahhh. never move it. infection and irritation may ensue.
only when you're using the sea salt.

yea, while it was probably dumb of me. i did not get it done at a piercing place. =[

i brought the jewlery to my moms friends house who is like...a few months away from getting her piercing license. we got it from starship, an actual piercing place, its surgical steel, the only kind of metal im not allergic to. and she used a 14 g needle that went thru quite easily and since im a pussy and my mom wanted her to, she gave me 2 shots of lidocaine before she did it so i felt literally no pain. the lady is also a nurse/obgyn/delivers babies. lol.

the only beef i really have with the piercing is the redness around the top and the bubble. the redness i expected but the bubble i did not. lol.

My sis got her navel pierced 7 years ago (gah! we're old) and had the "bubble" issue. Mostly due to her being allergic to the plastic balls on the barbell (which she changed it to when she could after the original hoop was too difficult to clean).

It took many years before hers healed properly (and she was very responsible with taking care of it).

As everyone said, DON'T use alcohol. Clean it with gentle soap (do NOT use anti-bacterial, use something like Dove or Aveeno) and rinse well, then use some salt water on it. NEVER TOUCH IT without WASHING YOUR HANDS FIRST.

I can't believe she would shoot you up with lidocaine! When you get a piercing you NEED to feel the pain in case a nerve is hit wrong. It's a SAFETY PRECAUTION.

yeah she told me not to use alcohol but my mom was just like "blah blah blah kills germs" so i was just like "grr fine" so yeah and ive been washing my hands before i touch it so yeahh. my hands get dirty alot. i like to color =]

yeah...seriously stop using the alcohal, I'm sorry and no offense to your mom but the fact that she told you to use it when the lady told you not to is kind of dumb. ...it will corrode the barbell...you wanna talk infection then?

get some Bactine! it's an antiseptic wash so it cleans and reduces pain
you can get it at the drug store, it has a green cap and a red dot...i used it when I got my cartilage done and it helped a lot

also you do need to move the barbell when you clean it to keep puss and crusty scab stuff from building up around the piercing but only do it when your hands are clean

aye, i agree shauna. i don't anesthetics are necessary for simple piercings. lidocaine is really only used in body modification for invasive modifications like implants and tongue splitting.

and denise, most places in the UK pierce belly buttons with a berbell because BCRs tend to catch on clothing too much, making the healing process a hell of alot longer.

H2Ocean or whatever its called is awesome for cleaning piercings. You can get it online, or at places where they sell body jewelry.

That bubble might be infection, who knows. Maybe you should get it checked out? Go to a piercing parlor and have them look at it, you know, for precaution.

i want mine done but im not happy with my stomach atm cos its not as flat as id like so i wanna get rid of that a bit first

i would say it looks cute on you...but its hard to tell when its just your belly button in the pic but im positivne it does look very cute along with the rest of you ;]

I tried to do that. I did 15 (in about half an hour) and my neck hurted so I stopped. HA HA HA.

Hate to contradict you so very, very much, but that can be bad for some people, they end up pulling themselves up by their neck and it just puts more stress. That happened to me for a bit, and I walked around like this: because I couldn't move my neck at all. I forget how I managed to fix that, though..

it happens to me all the time [well, it used to, when I trained for soccer freshman year...I miss those days], but its hurts a lot more because of my chest. icky.

It might've been hand placement, but whatever it was, it sucked.

I can do like one sit up, and I have a flat stomach. I'm also really active and pretty strong I just don't have those muscles.

That bellybutton looks painful. My friend had hers done and it didn't look like that at all, I think you should get it checked out just to be sure.
