| Okay I have a couple of ideas...
1.) Use a malibu treatment, it may strip off the color a bit. (I recommend doing this, before getting any color done.)
2.) Go to your stylist and do highlights, and gradually get back to blond.
or the most severe.
3.) Go to your stylist, and do a color cleanse, which is basically bleaching your hair out. I can't guarantee that you'll be back to the original shade of blond you were, but you'll definitely be closer.
Also, did you stylist tone your hair? She could've tried toning it to non-gingery shade.

| i have no idea what a malibu treatment is? im not sure if she tried toning it. she said when i was in i might be a gingery blonde. or when my mum spoke to her she said i might have to go darker blonde for a while which is fine by me!
its just a pain so if i can do anything at home to help strip it then i want to

| Malibu's basically take out any product buildup you have, or if you have well-water, or hard-water, that can make your hair brassy, it'll take out the brassy-ness. They also have "corrective color" malibus, that strip the hair color out.

I wish that website was able to let you buy just 1 instead of the huge box.

| do you know anything about colour removers? theres this stuff ive seen in the chemist which is called colour b4. its supposed to lift the colour out of your hair but has no bleach or amonia in it. im tempted to try it myself, with a browny blonde dye on hand in case it goes tits up but i dont want to end up damaging my hair. googling seems to say its not damamging, that it leaves hair a bit dry for a few days but conditioning it helps.
aaaah. i wanna try it but im so scared of my hair falling out!

| I tried using a color stripper on my nephews black hair, and it didn't do too much. My personal opinion is, if you really want it gone, go to your stylist, and have them bleach your hair. That way, you're spending money, but you're spending money on something that you know is going to work. | |

| colour stripper is pretty much just bleach. paul mitchell do a thing called backtrack which will take colour out, but is unpredictable on home colours. find a paul mitchell salon and ask about it. get a full head of blonde highlights with a brown surround. a good stylist will be able to tone the orange down. you won't be able to do it in one go. bleaching it and dying it browny blonde is a waste of time. you're best off putting an ash-brown/blonde on it (about a 7) to tone out some red and then getting your condition good before stepping anywhere near bleach. | |

| Only thing I worry up with those strippers is the color being overall even, and not taking your newgrowth way light, and your ends being obnoxiously dark. (which it wont be even anyway...) It's just not as reliable as going to an actually salon. | |

| i didnt do it myself. i went to the hairdresser! i went from my fucked up red to this she bleached and toned it and we were surprised at how it came out. i thought id be ginger, especially when it looked salmon pink before we washed it out. i went back the next day to get my fringe rebleached and it was very ginger and we toned it again. im so happy. its still a bit orangey red in places but its not horrific. | |
