| i went to the hairdressers a few weeks ago and got my hair bleached and what not. we were talking about how ive been blonde for a while and how ive wanted amazing bright pink hair for ages. but then we got talking about red. i really really want to dye my hair red. like, not red...but RED!!!!! this isnt a great photo but it was taken last week. i kind of want it in a messy, choppy longish bob because im also bored o the style. its just a bit bleh. but im slightly worried about looking like a tryhard emo. and like...can i still wear red lipstick? pink lipstick? what do you guys think? show me photos of awesome red hair and cute styles, midlength, choppy, messy, rocky that you think id like | |

| I say you do it. Who cares about looking hipster or whatever, i love funky colored hair on anyone. And you would look sooooo FOXY. Of course you have to be more careful with your colors I think, but from what I've seen of your style, you're pretty neutral. Lipstick can be tricky, but as long as the red or pink you have compliments, and doesn't clash with your hair, you're fiiiiine. Do it | |

| Just make sure your skin is looking good, and you'll be able to pull off anything with good application (as far as the bright lipsticks go).
As far the red itself, HOLY CRAP DO IT!

| I loved red lips + red hair, it was awesome. It'll definately suit you, red can make you look a little pale, but nothing a quick sweep of bronzer and a little peachy blush canfix Also, agreed with Nini, a more natural red would look awesome on you! <3 natural reds. Also, you'll only look like a try-hard emo if you do the whole shabang, ie... but you don't look like a rainbow-rave threw up on you so it'll be fine! plus, a hot red a-line bob would be hot with a blunt fringe UGH YES. Though i reckon a deep red/coppery red would look best on you! | |

| I keep thinking the title says red boobs... ANYWAY, I think you should totally do it! As long as you don't backcomb your hair to the heavens (or go with the whole ensemble as Hana said!) I think it's fine. Just work it your way and it will be awesome. Life is too short not to have bright red hair at least once. That's my motto. | |

| so ive been thinking about this id like it kind of like and the cut kind of like... - Spoiler:
but my mum spoke to my hairdresser - the one who suggested red in the first place - & she said it would be difficult, shed have to dye it pink first and then red and it would be hard o get back to blonde. i mean i wouldnt want to go back to blonde for a wbile (like 6 months) but...idk. now shes basically saying its too hard

| well, the pink will just help the red stick to your hair. When you're as light of blonde as you are, your hair is missing a lot of it's Natural Remaining Pigment, so your hairdresser suggesting the pink first is only for your benefit, so you don't get a muddy/faded color. and as far as getting your hair back to blonde, you could do it the safe way with gradual hi-lights, or just do a straight up bleach-n-tone. I'm not sure on how light you could get it, so you might have to do a couple.
And a few months ago I met a red head, who had amazingly vibrant red hair(that was aveda color), and she said she first dyed it pink with manic panic, and she had about an inch of new growth, so it had been a while since she actually colored it. and the color still looked awesome. so. in other words; do the pink-then-red.

| no i understand that. i guess im just kind of pissed that when i was in getting my hair bleached she was all "oh do you want to stay blonde? you could go red!" and put the idea in my head and now that i actually want it and tried to talk to her about it she's like "aw no id have to do this and this and this". | |

| yeah you generally have to pre-pig most colours when going from blonde, but then red shouldn't be too bad - that shouldn't put you off.
maybe she was just warning you? it will be hard to go back blonde, but not impossible, i get the feeling she was just trying to warn you tbh, i mean, i'd hate to do someones hair and for them to want to go back really fast and for it to be hard...
if you're sure you want it, do it, if not, dont. simple.

| yeah ive changed my appointment so im getting it done!
i suppose its just kind of like when i had black/dark hair and wanted to go blonde. 2 places I went to said they couldnt do it but then some places would. It's not like I expected to go from black to bleached platinum in one sitting!
