Self Portrait!

Sooo. I'm in a Self Portrait class right now at school. I thought I'd start a topic where I could show you girlies some of the stuff I'm doing. It's a lot of fun but also reeeeally challenging. Gah. Here's the skull I had to draw for tonight:



And here's a quick self portrait from last night... It's really light so sorry it's hard to see... It's my eyes/forehead/hair in a mirror on my desk...

The second drawing is of a mirror that's on my desk, and then in the back there's this box i have on my desk with hair stuff and headbands and whatnot in it, as well as some perfume bottles in front, etc. Nothing too exciting. It's rather faint in the actual picture, itself, as it isn't as important...

More more more! This weekend's homework we had to draw someone other than ourselves, and then do a self portrait of something other than our face. I chose to draw my fingers/ring because it's one thing that people seem to recognize as me, without looking at my face. People know me for that ring.





I'll take pictures at school tomorrow of some of the self portraits I did in class! I really like some of them.

Thank you, Jamie!! Anddd I took some pictures of the stuff I've been doing in class. I'm starting to get better, I think! I'm really happy. Oh and! Keep in mind... all these are called "modified blind contours," meaning we weren't supposed to be looking at our paper very much, you're supposed to really study the image in the mirror, draw very SLOWLY, and focus on the shapes, etc. I obviously looked at the paper... it wasn't a completely blind contour, but yeah. And I was sorta drawing at an angle for some of them, so that's why they come out looking so skewed!

Thanks Jamie!! I'm getting much more confident with it all. Today I did one where I had the mirror on the floor, so I was drawing like... looking up at myself. So I had SUPER HUGE THUNDER THIGHS... and... it was disconcerting. But fun!! I didn't take any pictures, but maybe I'll take some laaater.

Sooo... this is technically a new drawing class now, but I'll post it here. We had to recreate an image from a magazine, so here's mine, in the making:
