well im booked in for a trim on tuesday because ive not had a trim since before christmas so i felt it was time but im not getting anything except the ends cut off.

i want to leave it but im getting anxious...

ok well...i hate my hair being flat. i use volumising shampoo and spray in stuff but it doesnt work too well. ive tried putting hairspray in my palm and rubbing it into my roots and turning my head upside down and spraying hte roots...its just never oompy enough for me.

in this video :

leesha's lil sister mentions a teasing brush which ive looked for online and have only so far found in america. ARE they good? and does anyone in the uk know where i can find one?!

why not just get some volumizing mousse or texturizing cream? I don't believe in teasing combs/brushes...all you need are the right hair products.

teasing brushes are okay - but to be honest i'd just use a comb like puffy said and some hairspray!! and try lots of different things.

also, i know you've probably tried this, but putting some mousse through wet hair and then drying the roots with your head upside down and finishing off with a large round brush gets good body!! annd... diffusing (does your hairdryer come with a diffuser?) upside down with some mousse can help give a curly big hair effect...

the best thing to do is look at some tutes online and other peoples hair and just try a bunch of stuff!

I love the BedHead stuff from Tigi.

I've been using Queen for a Day Blowdry Spray and Superstar Blowdy Lotion with Superstar Hairspray together and have noticed that my hair is thicker and easier to oomph up than it was before - my hair is fairly fine naturally and with this stuff it's easy to scrunch it into a hot mess.
I first let my hair dry probably about 80% naturally or with a diffuser. Then put maybe 50p size of the lotion into my palm, spread it over both, throw my head upside down and scrunch it through concentrating on the ends. Then I flip everything back over, lift my hair up in 5 or 6 rough sections and spray a couple of short sprays of the Superstar Spray right into the roots and then scrunch it all in with my hands. Then I part it and finish blowdrying it upside down, rightway up, sideways and whatever and straighten it.
Usually it doesnt *look* any thicker when its straighened but you can scrunch your hair up at the roots and it'll stay up. So I do that, starting from the bottom lifting up random layers and spritzing 1 or 2 pumps of hairspray till i get to the top and ruffle up the roots.
Also: Ebay is by FAR the cheapest place to by bedhead, and unwind_me is a great, quick shipping seller.

As for teasing brushes, go to Sallys! I got a nice comb out of there on Tuesday from the one on North/South Bridge (although the one in Corstorphine is IMO better as it has all the extentiony-bits and lots of haircare stuff.) and I think it was probably about £3.50. It's great for getting into the roots, plus I'm finding the steel sections good for styling fringes - as in 'pomps' or whatever they're called!

Epic reply but hopefully helpful! Also for more texture wash your hair as seldom as possible so it's easier to style Smile
