| does anyone have any nice tattoos of birds?
i absolutely adore birds and think a lot of them are beautiful. (there's always exceptions!) One of my favourite books is To Kill a Mockingbird and the quote "shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird" because i love the idea that you shouldn't harm something because all it does is be beautiful and sing.
I possibly wouldn't want a straight up bird...but this is something I'm starting to think about and consider. Not something I'm doing any time soon but for the future...Ideas would be good. Something small.

| Oooh this is funny cos I'm thinking of getting a tat really soon after I turn 18 and I'm thinking of getting a little birdy! Just to always remind me to feel free and relaxed and like I can do anything.
But then I'm worried I'm just rushing into it... lol dilemmas! |

| yeh ive been thinking for ages of getting a bird for reasons similar to what you said and also because of the book and that quote and even though it's not the same, with doing art and "beautiful stuff", i can related to it. but it's not something i want to rush into in the near future. even tho it'll be quite small and inconspicuous. im not even quite sure where i'd get it. hip always seemed kinda cute to me. or like...i'm not sure how to describe it; like not the back of my neck, but slightly lower down. if i bend my head forward, i can feel the first knob of my spine, sort of just below that. so it'd be hidden by shirts. i love foot tattoos but i would absolutely freak and couldnt get that done 'cause of all the veins. unless i got fat feet... my ex's sister had a really nice...i cant remember if it was a leaf or a feather tattooed on the back of her neck, hidden by her hair in a pale green/blue ink so it wasn't too visible. that would be something i'd consider too. a smallish delicate feather would be nice - birdy but not directly...but would it go weird?! and i like that - Quote :
- They are considered the most complex integumentary structures found in vertebrates
mmm...im complex! this is gorgeous.

| I love Peacock feathers! I love my swallow tattoo, I'm glad I got it. But, I have to admit that it's just kinda "slapped" on my foot, that's why I'm sketching up an entire sock piece, that will go all the way around the ankle and up my leg a little. Definitely think about what your getting and why you're doing it, I've seen some really bad tattoos while hanging out in the shop. I really did the abstract idea. I'll take a look around the shop and post anything that looks interesting.[/i] |

| These are cute but I want something really simple, probably just an outline and the eye on my wrist I think, in white ink perhaps? This one's gorgeous! I'd love to get this one without the long tail hanging down: |

| Ahh I looooooove it! It's decided - I'm getting a white ink tatt on my right wrist. Just gotta find the perfect design!! I reaaaaaally wanna get it the day of my bday so I gotta hurry it up along haha. I kinda messily croopped the one I like through paint. Now I'm kinda thinking maybe short, cutesy wings rather than long, delicate ones. |

LOL AT THE PERSON IN THE BACK. Bahaha. My friend got this tattoo, and I quite like it.. although it's a bit big for my liking... I like the idea of a little owl behind my neck somewhere... something like this, but a little softer and nicer:

| Oh my lord I've been looking for a cute little owl everywhere and I couldn't find out! That's really cute.
And your friend's tatt rules. Maybe a little too big like you said though. |

| mhm. i have owl stuff all over my room now, so i'm all into them. i'm really considering this owl tattoo for when i turn 18, too. EDIT: I'm finding more and more that I really like.. ^it's weird cause my uncle who died's name is Charlie and i was considering getting something in memory of him... weiiird. That's pretty sweeet. But.. idk.. I love how simple and clean that one is. I love it. that's goofy. but too big.. Love those colors...

| Ya, I was considering an owl cos I'm a tiny bit obsessed but to me it represents wisdom, and I don't want some wisdom thing on me. I want something to remind me to always have fun.
But that would be so cute on you, Gina! |

| That one on the foot is amazing! I love the goofy one and the one before it. I went on paint again then printed out my idea. Whatcha think? (by the way Keeks sorry for hijacking your topic a bit but I figure it's bird tatts so what better place!) - Spoiler:
Of course it would be in white ink, but I'm kinda liking! |

| I like it too, and the placing and the color, but likewise with everyone else, I liked it better with the long wings and tail. The tail looks way too stubby. But I'm sure if you brought it to a tattoo parlor they could help make it what you want it to be... | |

| Jade, I don't mind! So long as people keep posting pretty bird tattoos to keep my ideas flowing, I'm good! And I agree about it looking odd with no tail. A longish tail would look cute, flicking around your wrist I think.
I absolutely adore owls, they're probably my favourite bird. I love the idea of everything they stand for. If I was to get an owl tho, I'd probably do it after I get my teaching degree as a graduation thing, considering they're all about wisdom and stuff.
