| Well, I haven't used a sewing machine in many years (over a decade, I think), so I got to really test it out tonight. I made a tunic! Without a pattern! It actually looks awesome. It's a 100% gauze cotton in black, I did a key-hole neckline (which I'm going to blanket stitch around in green), and trimmed the bottom of the sleeves in plaid to match the kilt. It is long enough to go below Grant's bum. It took a total of 3 hours to make. I still need to hem the sleeves, the bottom and do the neckline. The plaid isn't really "made" by me. It's just 5 yards of tartan wool, pleated and belted. I think I need to cut another yard off to make the top more manageable. And here's Rackham helping me cut the plaid: | |

Yes, indeed! He LOOOOVES that kilt wool. I might make him a Rackham pillow out of some of the extra. | |
