| Okay so yesterday i made a top in my first sewing lesson with mummy and made a halter out of an old band shirt.... I know the pic is rubbish, my camera was being a whore and so th eonly photo i could get was at the party last night, I'll get better photos of the top when it's out of the wash i promise. Anyway, I'm really looking into doing more of this, and i was wondering if any of you guys did stuff like this (other than plats i know about you!!) and if i could have a looksee at ssome photos as i'm in need of inspiration! =) | |

| That looks great Hana, the trim at the top is so cute and it really suits halter style! | |

| For inspiration, craftster.org and the tshirt surgery LJ (can't remember the URL, but a google will reveal it) I've been meaning to do that sort of thing with a big super mario tshirt but 1. I haven't bought it and 2. I get really frustrated at my sewing machine. | |

| What stitch did you use? I only have straight stitch and various zig zags. I get scared that I'll waste my time making something only to put it on and have all the seams rip because I don't have a stretch stitch. | |

| it's mostly overlock stitch, because we were sewing jersey and it makes it neater. but i figure zigzag would work equally as well, just so it can stretch, yknow? | |

| Ok, mum brought me a book home at her lunch today, called Subversive Seamster. It's all about taking thrift store clothing and making it into every day wearable stuff, and the projects are such fun! You might like that one, too. | |
