Memories Box Empty
PostSubject: Memories Box   Memories Box EmptyTue Apr 22, 2008 1:40 pm

So, the inevitable could be happening - at the end of this term, in 6 weeks my boyfriend is most likely going to be moving 200 miles home for 4 months.
Now I would love to say "oh we'll work things out... i can get the train..." but in all honesty, he acts like a very different person when he's with his friends at home and we'll lose touch eventually.

So.. sad part over!

While things are amazing I want to make a big box of things for him to take away with him that will remind him of me and all the fun times we've had over the last year. I've come up with a lot of bigger things but would love your help filling it up with cute odds and ends that'll make it even - more special! As much as possible I want to keep the things hand made so they're more personal, and I'm pretty competent in most mediums so - throw at me what you will!!

So far, some of the things I'd love to include in the box are...

- A medium Starbucks mug: I'd like to paint a part of this with some sort of bauhaus/art deco pattern as he loves that style.
- Starbucks Tea: his drink of choice!
- Scottish Blend: his tea of choice when at home!
- Fluffy white toy kitten or Peter rabbit
- White, dangly, flower chains: horrible explanation but we both thought they were cool.
- Duck Fairy Lights: we call ourselves "loveducks", yeah... Razz
- Hair Clips from kids h&m: I just always have some so thought it would be cute.
- Underwear: a pair of pants with squirrels on that he loves!
- Fancy dress masks: what we both wore to his flatwarming party last week, I was a cat, he was a gangstaa
- Love rings: two mood rings we always wear, tied together with a little ribbon
- Mini ginger cat: we "adopted" a big one from the bear factory so want to get him the little version!
- Hoodie: he always steals mine so I though I might give him one
- Ice Tea / Blue Powerade: the first drinks we bought each other
- Club admission tickets: we don't always have the best nights out but at least they're memorable!
- Takeout menu: we always have chinese so i thought I'd circle what we usually order
- A bag of Gummy Bears
- A Pantone mug: in his favourite colour brown just becuase he likes them!
- Mini sparklers: because we're silly and buy silly things
- Skins Season 1 Box Set: I got him into watching the second season eventually, but want him to see the first!
- Strawberry Lypsyl: he steals mine!
- Lowlife belt: he steals this too!

some more personal things...

- Notebook with some of my favourite texts from him: handwritten, collage etc.
- Friendship bracelet: handmade!
- Stencil: we both love graffiti and have said tons of time we should go out and spray things, so a cute stencil, maybe with our initials or something and some spray paint.
- Love CD: modern version of the mixed tape! Or maybe a USB with lots of my favourite albums for him to listen to (or not as he hates my scene! Razz)
- Poster/Board: just a big collage with lots of nice pictures, lyrics and notes... that sort of thing.
- Love letter: because there has to be one, and he's pretty special to me!

Soooo....!! I realise some of those things look dumb and they're all quite personal to us. But I'd also like some cute, generic things to put in to fill it up even more!

Does anybody have any suggestions? Very Happy

ooooh i really like the poster/collage idea, thats cute.
Also, why not make an actual mix tape, like on an actual cassette rather than just a cd, i know nobody even has cassette players anymore, but it feels a bit more, i dunno, i just think its cuter. And you can record yourself singing over it, like on friends when janice does one for chandler and he accidentally gives it to monica hahah. oook, joking about that last part!
Photo booth pictures, you can't go wrong with some of those, although im guessing you've already got them

Thanks girlies *blushes*

Awww yeah photo booth pictures are a wicked idea! I never would've thought of that! And sexy photos..... hmmm!! Wink

Lmao - Bianca if only you could hear me sing... I'm worse than Janice!! Although that episode of friends is amazing!

Jade, you totally don't wish you had a boy to do this with - because that means he's leaving! You want a guy you get to keep forever! Smile

But wooo sweets! I might go buy a huge box of those loveheart thingies - and write cute stuff on every one of them.
Awww I'm such a sap!! Razz

Do something randomly cute for him and it might get him thinking!

Like last night I sent him a text saying 10 Things I Hate About You. But none of the things were bad, just stupid stuff like "I hate the fact I can never kiss you enough" to make him smile!

I dunno, doesn't have to be big as long as they know there's thought behind it! And I got a really lovely text back Smile

Could you get a friend to drop some hints? I don't think guys are very good at coming up with things like that themselves! Razz

I love in-a-box projects! They're great because you can adapt them to fit almost any theme.
I have no suggestions but had to reply to say it's a rediculously sweet idea : )
