| Oh, watched Tropic Thunder last night.
Much funnier than I thought it would be actually. I was tipsy at the time however, so if I ever see it again it might not tickle me the same way...

it's like real footage from people all around NYC that day. Really creepy and surreal. I watched that too, Jay; I actually cried a tad watching. Seeing the people jump and fall out of those buildings was way too much for me...and every one crying and being stressed out, seeing the recordings and hearing the reactions of the people behind the cameras...I never realized just how much that's affected people.

| yeah I know I thought it was crazy how they actually showed the footage of the people jumping out of the buildings.. Idk... I mean, we can't even say ass, or swallow, in a sexual way, but we can show actually suicide??? | |

| That bothered me, too. Then again, it is the history channel, and they've showed programs talking about sexual history/exploration/etc. But man, that threw me for a loop. I wasn't expecting to see the suicides, and then once I anticipated it, I just couldn't help but cry. I guess falling to your death is more suitable than suffocation. I can't say that they're wrong for it though, because they DID have the disclaimer saying that there was some disturbing content...but goddamn, I didn't expect THAT, you know? | |

| I went to see The Boy in the Striped Pajamas last night. It's about a family, where the dad is a reasonably high nazi soldier and they move to the countryside, beside what turns out to be a Jewish camp the father runs. Their young son goes out exploring and befriends a Jewish boy of the same age through the fence of the camp. oh my gosh. - Spoiler:
it was so uncomfortable a lot of the time, with the young soldier and stuff; like when the 12 year old sister was flirting with him and it was possibly implied they were up to monkey business. or when he flipped at dinner and took the old Jew outside to beat him up.
but oh my god the last 20mins or so was so uncomfortable and sad. when he started to dig under and put the "pajamas" on, I could sort of see what was happening. I'd presumed all along that the Jewish kid would end up in the gas chamber or something but wasnt sure how. Basically, the two of them get caught in the crowd going to the gas chamber; they follow them getting told to strip in the big room for "their shower" and then going in and them putting the gas on and stuff. From outside the door you can hear them screaming and then silence. While this goes on, the German boys family find him missing and go in search, to find his clothes beside the wire fence. His dad runs in, realises a lot of the jews are gone and realises what has happened. The end is panning away from the heavy metal door, into the room with all of the "pajamas" hanging up. It was so sad and moving.

Not SUPER scary but just... creepy and kinda weird... Jack Nicholson is a CREEPER.

| it was such a good film. im surprised i didnt burst into tears. i felt like it! it really wasnt what i was expecting. i mean we went in, and the "commandant" father is called Ralph so we had a giggle about that (I was with Ralph, who is very english ) but as it got on...wow. someone had said that the ending was very moving and uncomfortable and they were right. it was very well filmed tho. and yknow how usually when the movie ends, everyone jumps up and grabs their coats and stuff? everyone just kind of...sat there. it was odd. I've also seen Tropic Thunder recently, which wasn't too bad if you took it in the sense you're supposed to: it's MEANT to be stupid and shit but RDjr is always hot. Saw Swing Vote which I fell asleep during. The Strangers was not what it was talked up to be but I still enjoyed it and - Spoiler:
the fact they just kill and torture for kicks is really creepy
what else have I seen...TAKEN WAS AMAZING! Liam Neeson is hot... I so the Notebook too and thought it was not what it was hyped up to be. Pineapple Express wasn't as good as I'd hoped either.
