| Ok, so I mentioned in music that in June I am off to Download, which means I have to go 4 days with no straightners . So, I was wondering if you guys had any advice on how I can get round this as when I wash mine if I don't straighten it it just goes uncontrollably frizzy and wavy. Any help would be greatly appreciated |

| try a leavein conditioner, and just french braid your hair back into a bun on the back of your head.
you could wear a crazy hairband or clips if you want it to look cooler? |

| Awesome, thanks Lil, I've just started using this Aussie leave in conditioner and it is great and is designed to protect against like hot conditions and all that so that is definately going with me, I think I could like survive a day, maybe two without washing my hair at a push(dry shampoo may prove to be a god send). So plaiting and braiding seems like a good option to me. Does anyone have any pictures of good festival friendly styles, because I'll probs have more chance figuring out how to do it if I see it:)? I'm going with my bf so I want to stay atleast half presentable lol! |

| usually if i want my hair to stay off my face i do this but it looks bad now cos i haven't washed my hair for a few days and i have loads of product residue, sorry! basically just french braid my fringe/bangs and then clip them back. and then i put the rest of my hair in a bun! |

| yeahh, or thick hairbands! they cover up your roots so you an leave the rest to be au natural!
also, you can buy dry shampoo which you spray onto your hair and brush through which my sister has and got from superdrug it's by Batiste (i think that's how it's spelt). It's around £5 i tink but it works like a dream (my sister has naurally curly hair and uses it so the can keep it straight for longer, so it should work for you).

| you can use dry shampoo, and straightening creme - it straightens your hair without heat [it should at least] and keeps hair smooth. paired with dry shampoo, it should work.
hats work too. I love my beret, but its too big for my now short hair, so I need a smaller one. they'll work nicely for you, if you like hats like that.
scarves and headbands work nicely too.

| I agree with all the above especially hats and scarves... although tbh you will kinda forget about your hair after the first day, there's too much going on and lets face it no-one is looking their best (except the cop-outs that arrive in motorhomes!!) | |

| Depending on how wavy/curly your hair is, straightening creams don't always work that well. I think dry shampoo and leave in conditioner are really good ideas. I'd probably just tie it up in a messy ponytail. Always looks hot | |

| you have long hair? You could put your hair in two pigtail braid things, thats what I do when I don't have motivation to actually do my hair...and generally it ends up looking cute. | |

| yeah i have reasonably long hair i just dont do pigtails often cos i have layered hair and it gets so thin at the ends that they tend to curve out and i look slightly like a demonic milk maid or something |

| from the internets! - Quote :
- Hair
Rain + Sun + No Washing + Living in a hot tent with no hairdryer / straighteners = SCARY HAIRY LADY!
You will need: A hairbrush, leave in conditioner, head scarf, hat, hair powder (yes, hair powder.)
1) Wash your hair at the last possible minute before you go thus maximising good-hair time.
2) Bring a quality brush and try to remember to brush your hair before you pass out every night. A Mason Pearson brush is an investment, and particularly good on festy hair as it redistributes oil every time you use it.
3) If it's sunny, wash hair in cold water on the second day, apply leave-in conditioner, and leave to dry naturally. If it's cold, don't risk hypothermia, use hair powder to suck up the grease (Bumble & Bumble's come in 4 shades.) Talcum powder is a budget alternative for blondes.
4) And, if the situation gets completely out of control, whack on a brightly coloured headscarf a la Nicole, or hide under a hat.
Skin
Keeping up a good cleansing routine is the secret to perfect festival skin.
You will need: Sunscreen, wipes, facial blotters, water, a large mirror and waterproof mascara.
1) Wear high factor sunscreen and don't forget to reapply, even if you have overdone it on the pear cider. Stay out of the sun at the hottest part of the day and NEVER EVER let yourself fall asleep in the sun. You will fall asleep a beautiful sleepy festival princess and awake as an angry lobster.
2) Drink lots of water, it keeps your skin looking plump and will save you from the hangover pixies.
3) Use waterproof mascara because it will rain at some point, and the "punched in the face" look isn't a big one right now.
4) Bring the biggest mirror you can carry. It might sound high maintainance, but you can't pull off that "effortless" make-up look without it.
5) Keep shine at bay with facial blotters. Try T-Zone No Shine papers or if you're feeling flush Shisedo Pureness have anti-oxidant properties to smooth and condition skin.
6) Skin wipes are the saviours of festivals. If you can possibly remove your makeup before bed, do it! You'll wake up looking fresher and it'll keep your pores clog free thus preventing spots.
Clothes
Unlike Kate and co. you won't be travelling to the event in a private helicopter, so pack light.
You will need:
1) A fab, traffic stopping dress for the evenings. Believe us, you will wear it!
2) Lots of layers for taking off and putting back on again when the weather is being mental.
3) A huge boyfriend-type parka jacket for the chilly nights and a waterproof for when the heavens open.
4) Flip flops: They take up no space and, hey, it might be really hot...
5) Wellies, but take a tip from la Moss and ditch the girly floral ones in favour of classic black, way less try-hard and probably a lot more waterproof!
6) A massive pair of sunglasses to disguise the fact that you got no sleep last night, or the night before, or... also, i just googled "festival hair" and i think they were doing something to the forum, as it was down, but a post of festival hair discussion/pics was on the download festival forum so id look for that later.
