White Tattoos?

What do you girls know about them? I saw some pictures of girls who have them on Specktra and I think they are so beautiful....but will they look weird in a few years?

I used to REALLY REALLY REALLY want a white ink tattoo, I think they're really pretty =) Still might get one but I promised mum the next one I'm getting for my 21st will be my last for a while.

I'm fully wanting one now. Coz they're subtle, and people won't be like omg she has tattoos judge judge judge. But where would be the best place to get one? And any ideas on what would look good? If I get it it won't be for a long time yet so I'm just trying to brainstorm and find something really fitting.

I suppose where to put it depends on the design you choose as well Jess. If you want it sort of hidden, maybe on your inner wrist/arm, back of your neck, behind your ear, ankle, foot... Etc etc...

Sigh it's annoying because I know I want something but I can't decide on something I'd be happy to have forever. I sorta want it to be related to my interest in History and Myth, but like what? Sigh.

White tattoos fade really fast. My ex-roomate had a white tiger on his chest that is really now just a tiger outline. I think the white lasted maybe 5 years tops. You can't even tell it was ever there.

The white in the tattoo on my wrist never really showed, because I'm so pale. I could get it touched up, I suppose, but since I got the tattoo only three years ago, and it might not show even then, I probably won't ever bother. Tarren's location suggestions are good, but remember that it'll hurt more the closer the skin is to the bone. My wrist piece is basically a bracelet, and it was swollen for four days after I got it done, and really tender. You might want to consider that when you choose your location.

Couldn't you get it touched up though? Though in a way that idea is sort of appealing to me as I really don't want it to jump out.

I think even the faded ones are still kinda pretty.

I would totally get one mainly because it's not all 'in your face!'
and not very noticeable.

white tattoos are a really bad idea. the pigment in white ink is so weak that it has to be tattooed heavily to get it to stay in the skin. this can cause scarring and can lead to a "bumpy" tattoo.It is also really hard to get white ink to go in solidly. Also, if you get a slight bit of tan on that white ink, it goes a nasty tea bag stained kind of colour. so in theory, white tattoos are great! in reality, not so much
