| so Im trying to decide between covergirl's outlast double lipshine and maybelline's superstay lip colour. they're both around the same price, and I was considering getting both for the sake of a head to head blog review, but I'd really like the opinions of the girlies on these.
did it last as long as it claimed? if not, how long? it the colour true to life and flattering? did it flake at all/rub off?
the reason I'm wanting a colour stay gloss is because I have a choir performance coming up, and I want something to last between me singing and chugging back tonnes of water. so any advice is appreciated!

| lisbeth, is this the kind you used? did you like it? Im questioning it because I need something nice and compact to take with me, and carrying those two don't seem very...compact! | |

| I used the Maybelline Superstay Lipgloss in Beaming Blush. I didn't find it drying, just make sure you prep your lips first. What you do is put on the base colour and let it dry for two minutes- But do NOT rub your lips together. Apparently it disturbs the polymers or something. The gloss eventually dulls down a bit (though it takes a long time) but the colour stays- you can add any gloss on top if you want. I didn't do a whole lot of eating though, so I couldn't say. But believe me, the colour lasts FOREVER. Like, after i washed my face it was still on. | |

| thanks for the in-depth review, Jess! very appreciated! walmart has the lowest price and the largest colour selection, so I'll be going there. the last colour stay I used was by Revlon, but it got discontinued, so I've been on the hunt. IF I see that CG has a decent colour selection, I'll pick one up and test them both. :]
thanks again, Jess! | |

| Yeah, the color stay lipgloss is totally the way to go. I think I have one in every color. It does'nt make my lips feel all dry and gross like, pretty much every other long lasting lipcolor I've ever tried has. And you can apply as much gloss as often as you want and it does'nt screw with the color. The only thing is you kinda need a oil based makeup remover to get it off! | |

| oh yay. I think I'll go with this one then! its basically the covergirl one, but they're TOGETHER so it makes travel a lot easier. and if I don't like the balm it comes with, I'll just use my aquafina over it!
thanks ladies!
edit: okay, if my budget allows, I'm getting the super stay gloss in glass rose, and the lip colour in either blush, pink, or blossom. I can't wait to be able to sing without gloss/lipstick fading off.

| so I got it in Pink [Peach looked like it would wash me out, and they didn't have blossom in stock], and its pretty rad. it lasted a good ten minutes of making out. I didn't really eat anything with it on, but I did drink water and it stayed on. I even gave beau kisses all over his face and got wrassled and it STILL stayed. even with different glosses [benefit, aquafina] layered over it, it didn't budge. its a great shade, though I wish it was matte. otherwise, it's a permanent in my bag now, and will be great with me practicing/singing all day. | |

Pink is the actual shade name here in the US :] oh, and this stuff was GREAT today. I did reapply it, because I accidentally wiped it off when I was eating unusually greasy cheesy bread. by the time we ate, after singing our set, sight reading, and watching a performance or two, it only wore off a little, but was still REALLY pretty. then I added more in 4th hour in case people took pictures of us, and it became a bold, bright pink instead of natural and subdued. two of my choir mates said it was a beautiful shade on me and loved how it looked. wee. the best part about it though: I know when I've let it dry long enough when I rub the balm on, and nothing comes up on it. if there's pink on the balm, though; I didn't wait long enough, and it won't last as long. there's no guessing with this stuff. this was so worth the $7.97. edit:: so I did a swatch on my arm, and I...forgot about it. I play wrassled, fooled around, ate, got sweaty from runnning around, and then I slept. I wake up just now, this crap is still on my arm. like, I can't feel it on my skin, it blended so seamlessly. plus, it makes my arm 10x prettier. how groovy!

| After reading this thread I was looking at the Maybelline superstay gloss (it's rare to see a CG stand here) and was swiping it on the back of my hand... I didn't specifically wash my hands to get it off, and it lasted for like 24 hours through washing, doing the dishes, washing off makeup. It's insane; I can still see a bit of residue there.
I looked at the Peach colour, and it actually came out a bright and gorgeous pink. Plum was the other one I had a play with and it was gorgeous. They're $21.99 here, but it was 20% off, I wish I had got one. >.<

| the peach I saw [this was for the lip colours, not glosses, so it may be different] was very peachy, but looked a little too washed out for my tone, which saddened me. I picked up the [antique?] rose shade, and beau made me choose, so I picked the lip colour [gloss gets kinda icky when you sing]. I was slightly disappointed with the coral, but I think I'll buy it next time, it could become a great summer shade for me. | |

| THE TRICK TO TAKING IT OFF:
FOUNDATION.
seriously. instead of using an oil based cleanser, use your foundation [which already has oil in it].
just a little pump, and massage it into your lips. then wipe it off.
the result? clean and supple [YES, SUPPLE] lips.
