So Alyson wanted some wings for a photoshoot. Her one stipulation? She likes purple. I know Alyson because I used to be friends with her older sister in middle school, and she is best friends with Grant's cousin. So I did these wings from what I know of her personality--glam, sexy and girlie. Oh--and purple!
These are ENTIRELY hand painted fabric on wire frame. The antennae and spirals at the bottom are wire that is hand wrapped with purple ribbon. I did the veins with puffy fabric paint, then layered fabric glue over that, and sprinkled with LOTS of glitter.
I decorated the center with purple silk flowers, and ivy vines (the only other request Aly made for them), and lots of silk ribbons in various purple shades, black and some sage green to make them pop.
The "lop sided" antennae (if you look close, you can see they are different lengths) add a touch of whimsy and playfulness to an otherwise VERY glamorous set of wings--as do the two little butterfly hitch hikers on them.
And yay! Aly LOVES them. These puppies are $70. And I think I have her convinced to come to the Faery Fest with us!
