Kingdom Hearts II help?

I got this for Xmas and I've been blagging my way through the game..
I should have learnt about how to use potions and ether and all that stuff when I was Roxas, but that part of the game was so easy that I didn't bother and just managed to get by with the X button

But now that I'm Sora (I really liked Roxas, why'd he have to combine:pissed:) things are a little tougher. Today was the first time I bothered using a potion..
I am now in the Colisseum/Hercules world, whatever it was called , and I have to fight Cerberus but on all the walkthroughs it talks about using Limit and Drive and stuff and I don't understand what they are The booklet doesn't help either.

I think I know how to put on Limit, you just press left on that little box in the left hand corner till it comes up.. but I don't know what you do with it or what it is.

How do you use stuff like that? What's it for?

Also, when you equip potions and stuff, why do you have to assign it a button? If you press that button it doesn't use the potion, I have to scroll to potion and tap Sora.. I don't get it

like when you go into Super Badass Sora mode?
Where he can just like attack and attack super super fast?

Ahaha, no worries. I got past that bit days ago, still very confused about all the Command stuff but nyeh, I get by without it.

drives are sora's forms: valor, wisdom, master, final and anti-sora.

you choose 'em by using drive command list.

valor is high attack, fast, two keyblades.
wisdom is magical based attacks.
master is a comb. of the two.
final is comb. of all forms.
anti-sora is darkness + speeeeed
like he's on coke or somethin'!

they're useful for targeting enemies weak against the type and good to utilize when you're about to get pwnd.



+ limits are virtually the same purpose, just that they're used as combo attacks with special attributes. you use them by going to the second command menu (summon/party) and click limit, then choose on and bambam! i think what you mentioned was auto-limit?
