| Im not going to order off ebay unless im totally desperate.. I'm looking for a sewing mannequin, preferrably adjustable but if not, a smaller one would be excellent.
It's jsut that my textiles major work is gonna kill me if i don't have one.
soo any help would be excellent! |

| The singer sewing Dress Forms are cheap but STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!
You can't push pins into them, it's held up by a flimsy metal pole which breaks easily and causes the form to fall down, they're hollow, not easily adjustable, and if you're going to be putting something substantial on them (formal dress, things made with heavy fabrics) it won't hold up to it.
http://www.onlymannequins.com/?gclid=CPX0n5Hev5ACFQwsOAodOUvxYw has lots
The DritzĀ® ''My Double Deluxe'' Dressform has gotten some reviews both from people who have loved it and also from people who have hated it.
Another (and by far the cheapest) option is to make your own out of duct tape. There's alot of online tuts on how to do this.
Here's a few:

I wont really be using heavy fabrics [beau is getting me my first sewing machine this year], but is it worth it as a beginner?

| Check out flea markets and antique shops---I always see TONS. There's actually a big warehouse here that has TONS of stuff in it (bizarre things, like movie props, furniture liquidated from hotels, etc) and they carry LOTS of dressmaker forms.
So yeah, look into any place like that.

| Im not sure if I'll be able to find one that way, since we dont have any flea markets, and I cant make one just because I have no time for it. | |

I wont really be using heavy fabrics [beau is getting me my first sewing machine this year], but is it worth it as a beginner? Those are the ones i meant puffy. I went to the actual store to buy one and it looked pretty good. Then I felt it and just kinda checked it over and went "yeah, no." The Dritz one should be better though. Maybe give that one a shot? My mannequin is a friend of mined with the same measurements as me that I force to try one what I make and stand still while I alter it. |

| okay, I wasnt sure if thats what you meant, haha.
and I may go with dritz - theyre both the same price, what have I got to lose?
sadly, I have really awkward measurements - my I have a small waist, and my tummy is a bit wider, but then my bust is bigger than both ;-; most awkward hourglass figure ever. >.<
