You could always get one of those Rit (I think that's the name of the brand) dyes at a craft store, and dye the sweater if the tag says its okay to wash it.

I think that could work at least- I feel like my grandma did the same to her peacoat.

wow, thats not a bad idea! I may do that with a cardigan I have in my closet that's a horrendous mint green - it would be so much better in plum or forest green!

and can anyone tell me a place where I can get really nice skirts? something I can wear with black tights and my grey booties, but then wear during the summer? I've yet to find a skirt that really suits me. ;-;

for some reason, these were deleted from my photobucket album.....I think the people that run that clothing company are a little psycho about copyright or something. Considering that coat is an alteration of an available pattern, and a rip off of a coat I found on another site, their a tad hypocritical.
