| Alright, so there is a Masquerade coming up June 2nd that I'm going to (might volunteer at, as it is a fundraiser for Pagan Pride/Hamilton Harvest Festival). I'm going to go as Nyx, the Goddess of Night. I have some ideas, but having issues on HOW to do them. Sooo...here we go: I plan to wear my corset, which is black, and my black sleeves, which look something like this but they start at my wrist rather than having a loop for my thumb: I plan to make a big ball-gown type skirt (can't decide between black or a dark dark blue) in a shiney material, and have a sheer or net overlay in black with crystals all over it like stars. I also plan to have "wings" that attach to my sleeves like this: , with more crystals on it. I also need a mask. I'm thinking black and silver. I also plan to wear a long, wavy black wig. Now...any ideas how to pull this off? What about makeup? Mask on permanently, or on a stick to carry, or have hanging from a belt? I want to be lush and gorgeous, and totally out-do everyone! LOL! | |

| id put your mask on elastic, then you dont have to carry it but can take it off. some really vampy eyeliner would be awesome or sexy red lips maybe.
i guess you have a mask or something? hers^^is coolness. some card shops/ocassions shops/craft shops sell them. her mask looks as though it has feathery bits out of the sides, are you having that? if not you could have put something feathery in your hair or something which would look awesome without your mask too.
i like the wings idea. i made a cape last year at halloween out of cheap black netting and black ribbon but if you can sew then sewing it on to your glovey things is probably better.
it all sounds awesome. | |

| I think it the skirt should be black. And I'm totally diggin that mask. Its hottt. No joke. I think some dark sultry red lips would look amazing. Just play around with it. Do some trial and errors and see what you like! |

| Oooh black and silver mask = trés awesome. And I agree with Kiki about having the mask on elastic or something similar. It would just end up being a huge pain in the butt if you had to carry it around all night, and if it's on elastic then you can choose to take it off whenever you like. Aaaand I also agree with Poetic about the dark red lips. Yuuuuuummmy. |

| I reckon a sort of plumy bricky shade with a blue undertone...or a rust...for lips....and definately black skirt....and i think the mask needs silver to tie it into the crystals. But thats gonna look sexyyyyyy. | |

| THanks guys! I knew you all would have awesome input! I will have to post my costume bits as I go along.... Today I plan to work on the mask a bit, and see what I can come up with. I have some cool masks from Hallowe'en (I buy them when they're cheap for crafting and stuff) that I'll use as a base. I'm sure I can find some black fabric in my fabric bags to cover it with. I shall head to Dollarama today to find pretty silver sparklies for it. | |

| I bought a nice thick fabric that has a good sheen on it, and some gorgeous net-like fabric! Weeeee! So now I have my skirt and "wing cape" material! (Oh, and did I mention it only cost me $12 in total, since both were only $1.97 a metre?) | |

| 'Kay! My mask is done! It looks goooorgeous (I'll try to take a pic sometime today). My skirt is in the works, and I'm starting on the wings today. I even did 2 friends' masks and most of my sister's mask as well...LOL. | |
