Why aren't you supposed to drink energy drinks and alcohol together? Is it something to do with alcohol being a depressant so it cancels out and you die instead?

Yea, you're not supposed to mix them because energy drinks are stimulants and alcohol is a depressant. You are more likely to drink too much because you won't get tired or seem as intoxicated. Often you get really tired when you've had to much to drink but you won't on stimulants. Like instead of passing out or something you just keep drinking. It can be really serious. My boyfriend is pre-med and while working at the hospital he's seen a lot of people really screwed up on energy drinks and alcohol so we never drink them, though a lot of my friends like to. It think its weird you can order them in bars now.

It also makes you even more dehydrated so if nothing else, it gives you a worse hangover. When you drink coffee with alcohol you can have similar problems. Once I had three shots of espresso before drinking and was up all night trashed.
