YSL Black Lip Gloss

So have any of you seen/heard of Yves Saint Laurent's new Gloss Pur Black?

I saw it in vogue a while ago, and am on the fence as to whether i'd try it





i think it looks really haute and cutting edge, but also probably not something you can really pull off if you're not a model on the runway, ya know?

haha true... the price is ridiculous.

but the gloss is so nice... most black lipglosses i've seen look nasty and goopy and ugly, while this one seems sheer and buildable and i dunno... just tempting

course I have. bitches have been talking about it for months. its not really black, but on the verge of purple. with each application, the colour gradually gets deeper. so its not a straight up black; and yes, it is buildable. if you don't really have a defined, even lip shape, I wouldn't recommend it - you've got to have a strong lip to carry it off. what I WOULD reccomend for you, however, is the black gloss that lancome made, which is much more wearable because its sheer, and had very subtle shimmer in it [which is what makes it more wearable]. there were very few made though [in a set with red lipstick], so if you can get your hands on it...buy it!

Temptalia has some swatches on her blog. Looks pretty sweet.

OMG me too. i hear wet n wild puts out a black lipgloss yearly for halloween... never seen it in stores though! i might give that a try, over some purplish red lipstick maybe?

i've only seen brands put out blakc lipsticks

Black lips are really hard to pull off. I reccon it would look weird unless you line your lips perfectly....not to mention gloss wears off pretty fast, at least on me, so if your'e not checking your lips every 5 min will it look weird and patchy??

I got the Wet N Wild one today, it's a little mini keychain gloss that was only like 93 cents. It's very sheer and looks kind of crappy on it's own, but later I'm gonna try it over some different lipsticks.

Not many people can pull off black lips, but if you can, awesome! I know I won't be trying it, but it does look interesting...

omg, I had actually never heard of any brands of black lip gloss! =D only lipsticks. That's exciting I used to do the whol black lips thing back in grade 8 when I was all gothy (some of you might remember some strange make up stuff i did then lol) but now I'd love to do it again only cause its gloss I just don't know where to go?

I think black lips can look wicked if you have the whole flawless face/great hair and style thing going on. Otherwise it fails :/

My lips are wayyy too thin to wear colours THAT dark without overdrawing them to hell (I have quite... pouty I guess lips as well so overdrawing looks ridiculous).
