| holy crap steph, I love it! =D i especially love that red coppery color you used I was only able to do a decent job on smokey eyes once, and it took ages. and i find that black eyeshadow is the messiest eyeshadow, and also the hardest to clean off your cheeks Any suggestions? |

| do your eye makeup FIRST, and then use a baby wipe to clean up fall out on your face before going on to your base makeup. I prefer this over the powder method, where you pile face powder under your eyes to catch fallout, and when your done with your eye makeup, you brush the powder away. | |

| yeah, i heard the extra face power thing, didnt work, just smudged it into my face:P but see, I don't do much on my skin, im not the craziest make-uper, and half the stuff you girls talk about, im totally lost on But I'll try to find some wipes or something. Also though, my other eyeshadows dont fall on my cheeks as much, even with the same brands. Is it just a black thing or am I crazy? |

and how do youget your bleanding and liner so good? i'm dying with jealousy =) thanks! it's just a warm brown color I have (Inglot) but I tend to layer shadows so there's probably some red & orange underneath ahah that whole look is just shadow over shadow, thats why the blending came out the way it did haha Chrome Yellow eyeshadow (MAC) with a shimmery pale gold shadow (Inglot) on top, Orange eyeshadow (MAC) with a shimmery copper color (Inglot) on top Orange eyeshadow (MAC) with a sparkly red color on top (Inglot), and a warm shimmery brown (Inglot) on top of that lol! - Jess wrote:

really? I could totally picture you rocking a smoky eye! are you using blacks & grays for yours? cos I find when I use gray it makes me look tired, I always use a color to blend it out! In this one it was purple. It doesn't even show too much, but it makes a big difference! - xshannersx wrote:

Is it just a black thing or am I crazy? some shadows are more powdery than others, some are more.. packed in? if that makes sense. I get some fallout too but not that much, I can usually get rid of it with my foundation brush PLUS, using a base makes the shadow literally stick to your lid better, especially if your lids are a little dry (silky rather than oily). Are you using a base? | |

| nooo, the onet ime I went into MAC I asked about bases and such, and the woman showed me a great lilac one, but I was already speding $75 on eyeshadows and pigments, so I said I'd go back, but that was almsot a year ago Next time I'm downtown at the mall I'm defiantely going in to get some, and some brushes too, I onyl have one brush and its one of those cheap tiny spongey ones from some cheap makeup set thing and its fallen apart. What are the basics that I should get for brushes? |

| A liquid concealer is a good idea for a base, like MACs Moisturecover as an example, it's a good all 'round concealer for the eye area and does pretty well for redness too. If you want colours to pop more go for a white pencil like... NYX? If you can get it there (we can't ). As for brushes, if you're just going for eye make up, I would start off with a small, square-ish and relatively firm brush that can be used for either packing colour on the lid or putting colour on the crease, and a larger, fluffy one for blending. Those are really the essentials (when I'm doing make up on myself I only go for two brushes excluding lining, you don't need a gazillion). There are lots of options from there. This site seems pretty good for a quick guide. If you have any more questions, please make your own thread. This is for pictures. | |
