| Arg, JK Rowling annoys me... JK has done 7 copies of the book left to Hermione in the 7th Harry Potter book; The Tales of Beedle the Bard. There's 7 handwritten and illustrated copies of the book being given to 6 people very close to her and important to the harry potter series and one is being auctioned for her charity. All of the covers are hand made and unique. Apparently it will never be published as she owns the copyright. HOW ANNOYED AM I?! That's so selfish to her fans. - Quote :
- The Tales of Beedle the Bard,'' containing five stories with themes from the Harry Potter books, is one of only seven copies handwritten and illustrated by bestselling author Rowling, Sotheby's said in a statement today. The London sale will benefit the Children's Voice, a charity co-founded by Rowling.
The auction record for billionaire Rowling, 42, was set last month when a first edition of ``Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'' sold for 19,700 pounds at a Christie's International London auction.
Rowling has said she'll produce no more Potter books. Writing the fairy tale was a ``way to say goodbye to a world I have loved and lived for 17 years,'' Rowling said in the Sotheby's release.
That's so annoying...she's such a bitch. I mean even if she did it like the 2 "textbooks" that were made for comic relief; she could still raise money for charity AND make her fans happy by publishing it.

| Yeah there was a story in the paper today aswell about her suing this guy who wrote a Harry Potter Encyclopedia. It was basically just every HP term and he organised it.
She was pissed off cause she wanted to write it of something? IDK, but she's richer than the queen so it seems kinda selfish.

| Meh I'm not pissed cus it didn't sound like that much of an interesting story from the book.
I'd understand about her being peeved about the encyclopaedia if a lot of the info was wrong and therefore misleading, but I doubt she's even read it so she's just being a meanie!

| Nah I actually thought it sounded like an interesting book. The stories sounded really quirky and cool.
Wow...thats harsh. Ok so its copyrighted material but he was only organising it. She should have the wikipedia for harry potter taken down as well then. Silly woman.

| Yeah I've asked a few of my friends and they would all be interested in reading it, guess it just doesn't sound like the kind of thing that would appeal to me. Although with JK writing it..
If she sold it it would clearly do really well, I guess she just wants it to be this special limited thing.
I can't wait till she starts another series of books. I just can't imagine topping HP story wise so I really wanna see what she comes up with.

| I think people will just be quite annoyed with her because she's putting it out there but now allowing the majority to get it.
Fair enough auctioning and giving away the special copies but be fair and publish a copy for the masses

| Yup me too.
I think as well that...she's one of the higest profile writers of the current times I'd say and Harry is hugely popular...its really unfair of her to go "LALALALAL IVE WRITTEN THIS BUT YOU ARENT GETTING IT!"
